What do you mean by online lessons?

By 'online lessons', we mean lessons we deliver to you via the internet.

Where can I have online lessons?

You can have our online lessons at home or at your office. Indeed, anywhere, provided that you are in a suitable private/ quiet location and a computer connected to the internet.

How do online lessons work?

In an online lesson, you see your tutor on your computer screen. You and your tutor can talk to each other using your computer, as you would in a typical Skype call. At the same time, your tutor can use other aids and resources, such as a 'virtual' white board and a 'virtual' overhead projector to enhance your learning experience.

How do I book online lessons?

Booking online lessons is really easy: just call or send us an e-mail. That is all you need to do!

Do I need to book a minimum number of online lessons?

No, you don't have to book a minimum number of lessons. We will be happy to schedule as few or as many lessons as you want.

Yes, you will need access to a computer for your online lessons.

Do I need a broadband internet connection for online lessons?

Yes, we recommend that you should have a broadband internet connection. Online lessons over dial up connections may be possible, but we would expect the quality of the lesson to be significantly degraded.

Does my computer need to have a microphone and speakers for online lessons?

Yes, your computer needs to have a working microphone and speakers to listen to and talk to your tutor.

What computer skills do I need to receive online lessons?

If you can 'browse the web' and feel comfortable with sending and receiving e-mails and handling e-mail attachments, you should have no difficulty with online lessons.

How do I pay for online lessons?

We use Paypal invoicing to collect payments for lessons. It is a safe method of payment which should be convenient for you too. You don't need to have a Paypal account, and you don't have to give us any bank or credit card details either. When you book lessons, we send you a confirmation e-mail and an invoice. You 'click' on the secure Paypal payment method on the invoice, enter your card details and Paypal will process the transaction.

How do I schedule online lessons?

You may schedule lessons provisionally in advance of your payment clearing. Once your payment has cleared, your scheduled lessons will be confirmed.

What happens if I try to re-schedule an online lesson?

If you give us reasonable notice, we will always do our best to help you re-schedule lessons, and we will try to accommodate you at an alternative time/ date of your choice at no extra cost. If you fail to give us reasonable notice1, we may have to charge you for re-scheduling lessons.

What happens if I try to cancel an online lesson?

You may cancel lessons at any time at your own discretion. If you give us reasonable notice of your decision to cancel, we will refund the value of the cancelled lesson. In some cases, we may have to deduct a small cancellation fee to help us recover the costs involved in processing your cancellation. We will always let you know what that cost could be in advance, before you pay. If you fail to give us reasonable notice, we may have to charge you a lesson cancellation fee.

What happens if I want a refund?

If you want a refund before you have taken any lessons, we will give you a no quibble refund of what you have paid us for lessons, provided that you give us reasonable notice of your decision to ask for a refund.
If you want a refund after you have taken some lessons, we will give you a no quibble refund of the value of any lessons you have not taken, provided that you give us reasonable notice of your decision to ask for a refund.
Either way, if you fail to give us reasonable notice, we may have to charge you a lesson cancellation fee.
